Tecnologia Meccanica

Moody Direct is the exclusive UK and Ireland sales agent for Tecnologia Meccanica’s range of fluid jet mill micronizers.

Tecnologia Meccanica (based in Bergamo, Italy) is a family run business with over forty year’s experience in the design and manufacture of equipment for the pharmaceutical, cosmetic and chemical industries.

Today, Tecnologia Meccanica offer the most advanced jet milling systems for the micronization of pharmaceutical powders.

Their spiral jet mill technology is a real quantum leap in design, and the company is committed to on-going research and development to keep them at the forefront of this technology. Fluid jet micronizers are available for small scale R&D lab processing, pilot and small scale production, and full scale production.

Tecnologia Meccanica J-20 Fluid Jet Micronizer

Tecnologia Meccanica J-20 Fluid Jet MicronizerThe Fluid Jet family of micronizers (including the J-20 line) is based on Tecnologia Meccanica’s jet milling technology. These fluid jet micronizers are designed for R&D usage.

The J-20 fluid jet micronizer works at a constant temperature (endothermic) and independently with just a nitrogen bottle. The powder is fed at subsonic speeds (approximately 50 m/s) into the flat cylindrical milling chamber tangentially through a venturi system using pressurized air or nitrogen.

Once inside the milling chamber the particles are then accelerated by a series of jets around the perimeter to supersonic speeds (300 m/s), in a spiral movement. The micronizing effect occurs when the slower incoming particles and the faster particles in the spiral path collide.

While centrifugal force retains the larger particles at the periphery of the milling chamber, the smaller particles exit with the exhaust gas from the centre of the chamber.

Tecnologia Meccanica J-40/J-50/J-70 Fluid Jet Micronizer

Tecnologia Meccanica J-40/J-50/J-70 Fluid Jet MicronizersThe Fluid Jet family of micronizers (including the J-40, J-50 and J-70 machines) is based on Tecnologia Meccanica’s jet milling technology. These fluid jet micronizers are designed for pilot or small production.

These micronizers work at a constant temperature (endothermic) and independently with a small air compressor or a standard nitrogen supply. The powder is fed at subsonic speeds (approximately 50 m/s) into the flat cylindrical milling chamber tangentially through a venturi system using pressurized air or nitrogen.

Tecnologia Meccanica J200/J300/J400 Fluid Jet MicronizersThe Fluid Jet family of micronizers (including the J-200, J-300 and J-400 milling chambers) is based on Tecnologia Meccanica’s jet milling technology. These fluid jet micronizers are designed for medium wide production.

These micronizers work at a constant temperature (endothermic) and independently with the lowest consumption of process gas of similarly sized units available on the market.
